Your signature will appear here
Extra space is trimmed from your download.
Handwriting styles suit Latin-script names; other characters may use a fallback font. Draw mode lets you write in any script.
No account. No watermark. Names and drawings stay in this tab.
A signature,
ready to place.
This free online signature generator turns a typed name or a hand-drawn mark into a PNG image. Use the result in a document or design that accepts images. You can download the full result without signing up or paying to remove a watermark.
Type your name into a signature
Enter your name and choose one of three handwriting styles. Flowing uses connected, sweeping letters; Handwritten feels more informal; Classic offers a rounded script. The preview fits the text to the available space. Change the ink color and compare styles before downloading.
Draw your own signature
Switch to “Draw a signature” and write on the pad with a mouse, trackpad, touchscreen, or stylus. Choose a pen width for new strokes. Undo removes the last drawing change, including a clear; Ctrl+Z or Cmd+Z also works while the drawing controls or pad are focused. Switching modes keeps both versions until you reload or close the tab.
Download a transparent signature PNG
Select a transparent background to place your signature over a document without a white rectangle. The checkerboard and guide line are preview aids and are never included in the image. Choose a white background when you want an opaque image instead.
“Download PNG” saves the active signature and trims unused space around it, leaving a small margin. If your mobile browser opens the image rather than saving it immediately, use its Save Image or download option. Keep the image’s proportions when resizing it in another app.

Is this online signature generator free?
Yes. Typing, drawing, style changes, and PNG downloads are free. There is no registration, watermark, or payment screen before your download.
What is the difference between a typed and drawn signature?
A typed signature renders your name with a handwriting font. A drawn signature follows the strokes you make on the pad. Both export as PNG images; choose the version that suits your document or design.
Why does my downloaded signature have a checkered background?
The checkerboard on this page represents transparency and is not saved in the PNG. Some image viewers also display their own checkerboard behind transparent images. Choose a white background before downloading if you need an opaque image.
Does this create a cryptographic digital signature?
No. This tool creates an image of a signature. It does not verify identity, issue a certificate, attach a cryptographic signature, or record a signing audit trail. If a recipient requires a particular signing service or certificate, use that process.
Can I use the PNG in a PDF or Word document?
Use the image-insertion feature in your document app, place the PNG, and resize it proportionally. Plainly’s free PDF editor also lets you draw a signature directly on a PDF; it currently does not import this PNG.
Is my signature uploaded or saved?
No. Names and strokes stay in page memory, and the PNG is created in your browser. Fonts are served by this website without sending your name. Reloading clears the tool; downloaded images remain on your device until you remove them.
Why do some characters look different?
The included handwriting fonts cover Latin characters. Other characters may be rendered by a fallback font. You can use draw mode when you want full control of the appearance, including signatures in other writing systems.
