Including the ending.
This free online IQ practice test gives you a short reasoning challenge you can finish at your own pace. There is no charge to start, see your results, or read the explanations.
What you will work through
There are five questions in each of four areas: number patterns, visual patterns, word relationships, and logical reasoning. Some ask you to find a missing item; others ask which conclusion follows from a set of facts. The questions mix straightforward rules with multi-step reasoning.
How to take the test
Choose one answer, then continue to the next question. You can skip a question, use the numbered navigation to return to it, or change an answer before finishing. The review screen shows how many questions remain unanswered. There is no countdown or speed bonus.
What your result means
Each correct answer earns one point, up to 20. Incorrect and unanswered questions earn zero. Your result includes the total, percentage correct, and points in each question category. Open the answer review to see the rule or reasoning behind every answer.
These questions have not been standardized against a representative population. A result such as 16 out of 20 means you answered 16 of these questions correctly; it does not translate into an IQ of 120, an intelligence percentile, or a diagnosis.
Before you
overthink it.
Is this IQ test completely free, including results?
Yes. All 20 questions, your practice score, the category breakdown, and every answer explanation are free. You do not need to create an account or enter payment details.
Will this tell me my actual IQ?
No. This is an informal reasoning quiz. It has not been normed, validated, or age-adjusted to measure IQ. A standardized assessment uses an established scoring method and appropriate testing conditions. For more context, see Mensa’s IQ testing FAQs.
How long does the test take?
There are 20 questions and no time limit. You can take as long as you need, go back to earlier questions, and review your answers before finishing. Keep the tab open to preserve your progress.
Is a higher practice score always a sign of higher intelligence?
No. This score only describes your answers to this particular set. Familiarity with the questions, English vocabulary, attention, and prior puzzle practice can affect it. It should not be used to make decisions about someone’s abilities.
Can I retake the test?
Yes. Choose “Try again” after your results. It resets your answers and uses the same 20 questions. Since you may remember the explanations, a higher retake score does not demonstrate a change in IQ.
Are my answers saved or uploaded?
No. Answers and results stay in this page’s memory. They are not uploaded or saved to local storage. Closing or reloading the tab clears them. “Copy results” copies a short summary only when you choose it.
